Fund Raising
The “Hot Shot Challenge” is a fun packed event which raises essential funds for your school. All children (regardless of age or ability) are invited to take part and get sponsorship from their parents, neighbours, friends and relatives to raise money for the school.
Each child has three shots into our specially adapted Hot Shot Goal which is fitted with a sophisticated speed radar system which measures each pupils shot speed and displays it on the electronic scoreboard. After the first shot each child will receive professional coaching on how to improve their shooting technique. They then have two more shots and we measure and record the child’s improvement in the final two shots.
The results are amazing and demonstrate how effective just a little professional coaching can improve performance. Every child will get a Hot Shot Certificate and there are prizes for the girl and boy in each class who recorded the hottest shot and the most improvement. All of our events are organised and administered by Fit4Football’s office team so there is no hassle for your staff. The event itself is run by former local professional footballers Steve Blatherwick and David Reeves who are both qualified coaches and CRB checked.
Fit4Football has been getting great reviews from children, teachers and parents. Heads of schools have been delighted with our events because there is absolutely no cost or work involved for schools. Our cancellation terms also mean there is absolutely no risk.
Prior to the event
If you are interested in holding a Hot Shot Challenge event then we will arrange a visit to the school to explain exactly how it works. Assuming that you still want to go ahead, we will then pick a date for the event. This needs to be at least a month in advance to allow adequate time for the children to obtain sponsorship. We provide Sponsorship Forms and Posters to put up around the school and arrange for Steve or David to visit during a morning assembly to tell the kids about the Hot Shot Challenge and create some enthusiasm.
We also plan a timetable for the day detailing which class is in which session. We have four sessions per day to coincide with the school breaks. Each session includes an introduction to the Fit4Football healthy eating and exercise philosophy. We are also able to talk to the children at lunch about their diets if you wish.
The school collects sponsorship forms in 3 days before the event.
** Please note – if the school feels at this stage that they do not have enough sponsorship or interest to make money out of the event then Fit4Football will allow cancellation without cost or penalty if notified within 2 school days of the event date. This totally eliminates any risk to the school. This option has never been taken and all events have raised money for the school.
On the day of the event
Steve and David turn up at the school at 8am to set up the special Hot Shot inflatable goal and speed radar equipment. The time of year and weather on the day dictate whether the event is held outdoors or indoors.

Superbly organised and so professional, fit4football helped our school raise a huge sum of money to benefit not only us but charities as well. The pupils are constantly asking us when are they coming back and we will certainly be having them back. Steve and David were superb with the pupils, I couldn't recommend them highly enough.”

Mr M Fellows, Head Teacher at Norton Junior School, Doncaster
“We had a fantastic day and were very impressed by the excellent rapport that Steve and David had with the children. We know that the children particularly enjoyed the chance to meet and socialise with them throughout the lunchtime period. The emphasis they placed on the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise in order to develop and sustain a healthy lifestyle was a valuable contribution to the day. We raised a substantial sum of money for school funds and School Councils are already consulting with the whole school with regard to purchasing additional playground equipment. Many thanks from all at Norton Junior School.”Mrs.V.Stinson, Head Teacher at Canon Popham Primary School, Doncaster
“All our children really enjoyed taking part in the Hot Shot Challenge. The whole day was extremely well organized and the coaches were sensitive to the ages and needs of all our children. Even the staff were encouraged to have a go! We’re already looking forward to our next Hot Shot challenge.”
